Miniature painting since 1994

Welcome to my website! My name is Marijn Bierhof and I have been painting miniatures since 1994. It all started on a boring Sunday afternoon, when I grabbed by old Revell enamel paint, a HeroQuest Chaos Warrior and a brush and I slapped some paint on him. I loved it and almost 30 years later I still do!

I paint miniatures for my miniature wargames and board games or just for painting. In addition to slapping paint on little toy soldiers, I also create and/or paint a lof of terrain pieces to use in games.

On this website you can find images of my miniatures and terrain. If you have any questions, the easiest way to reach me is through Facebook.

Miniatures

Little toy soldiers, small chunks of plastic or metal or resin. Most of them are about 3cm tall and most of the times they are mounted on small bases. So they're not big, but they have a lot of detail and offer plenty of opportunities to do funky things with them. I always undercoat them with a primer and then paint them with acrylic paints, mostly with a size 1-2 Kolinsky marter sable brush.

Terrain

Miniature wargames are played on a tabletop and almost always with terrain pieces. These make sure the games become more interesting and tactical, but they also make games more immersive and it just looks great. So I try to spend enough time on terrain to make it look good, without it taking up too much time. In the end the miniatures are the nicest things to paint!
